What we use, in one look

This site does not build advertising profiles of you, and no file data is ever attached to any cookie or identifier. The full list of browser storage we touch:

• Session cookie — set only when you sign in to a paid account, to keep you signed in. Cleared on sign-out or expiry.
• Theme preference — local storage remembering light/dark mode. Never leaves your browser.
• Analytics identifier — a PostHog-generated random id used to count the seven product events described in our Privacy Policy. Autocapture and pageview tracking are disabled. Session replays used for usability analysis exclude the file area (upload zone, file list and any extracted metadata) and mask all typed input, as described in our Privacy Policy, and no file data is ever attached.
• Google Analytics — _ga cookies used to count visits, traffic sources and page performance in aggregate. No file data is ever attached.
• Ad-campaign measurement — when we advertise our own service (for example on Google), the ad platform may set a first-party cookie recording that you arrived from one of our ads, so we can tell which campaigns work. This measures our campaigns, not your browsing on other sites.

What we don't use

No retargeting cookies, no social-media pixels, no fingerprinting, and we never sell or share your data with ad networks. Any advertising we do promotes our own service, and its measurement never involves your files or your browsing on other sites. Using the free tool works without signing in — the only strictly necessary cookie exists to support paid accounts.

Your choices

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking them leaves the free tool fully functional; you'll simply be signed out of a paid account. Questions: use the contact page.
